- JESUS’ MISSION WAS SO UNIQUE THAT HIS CLOSEST DISCIPLES
COULDN’T FULLY UNDERSTAND IT.
- Mathew 16 v 13 – 20
v.13 “When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples,
saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?”
v.14 “And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and
others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.”
v.15 “He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?”
v.16 “And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the
living God.”
v.17 “And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona:
for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in
heaven.”
v.18 “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build
my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
v.19 “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever
thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt
loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
v.20 “Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus
the Christ.”
- GOD SENT HIM INTO THIS WORLD TO BREAK THE POWER OF
EVIL AND DEATH.

- Jesus willingly came into the world to establish the kingdom of God disarm the evil
powers of darkness and triumph over them. - Colossian 1 v 15 – 17
v.15 “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every
creature:”
v.16 “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in
earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or
principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”
v.17 “And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”
- JESUS CAME TO DEMONSTRATE A LIFE STYLE OF PERFECT
SUBMISSION AND CONSECRATION SO THAT WE CAN LIVE AND
DIE TO THE FLESH DAILY.
- Jesus came to show the world the nature of God. He came as God’s living word to
reproduce the divine nature of God in us. That is why we need to study the Bible
daily. - Jesus’ ministry reached its fulfillment at Calvary when eternity broke through into
time, when human’s need, Christ mission and all other aspects of God’s nature
came together. - 2 Peter 1 v 3 – 8
v.3 “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain
unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to
glory and virtue:”
v.4 “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by
these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the
corruption that is in the world through lust.”

v.5 “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue
knowledge”
v.6 “And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to
patience godliness;”
v.7 “And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.”
v.8 “For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall
neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
- JESUS DIED TO GIVE US VICTORY
- Rev. 1 v 8
“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which
is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” - Jesus died to rescue humanity from the grip of death and satan. Through his death,
he destroyed the Satan, released those held captive, returned to earth in
Resurrection triumph and ascended to heaven with the Key of hell and death. - Jesus died and rose as the Victor who destroyed satan, sets the people free,
establishes the Kingdom of God, fulfills every aspect of the Old Testament
reparation (compensation) sacrifice.
So that we can live in Christ’s Victory and freedom.
- JESUS DIED TO MAKE ATONEMENT FOR HUMANITY
- Heb. 9 v 22
“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding
of blood is no remission.”
Atonement means:
- The action of making amends for a wrong
- Compensation
- Payment
- Repayment

In the Bible, Atonement is the Reconciliation of God and Mankind through Jesus
Christ

- Intercession
- Propitiation

Jesus also died to make atonement for humanity’s sin. Atonement means to make
amends.- 9
a. On the cross, He appeased God’s wrath and delivered us from sin.
b. He did this by accepting the blame enduring the agony of separation from the
Father.
c. He took our faults on himself to win for us eternal reconciliation.
d. By His death, he paid for God’s forgiveness with his blood so that we can have
Christ’s righteousness and right stand before God. - NEW LIFE IN CHRIST
- Isa. 53 v 10
“Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou
shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his
days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.” - Jesus died in excruciating pain for the birth of a new creation. He went to the cross to
travail and give birth to a new creation which would reproduce the divine nature of
God.
11 - This is the salvation from eternal death so that we can live eternally with God’s new
life. Halleluyah. - Jesus went through Spiritual Childbirth like the panting deer in Psalms 42 v 1 – 2,
- deeply spiritually thirsty and he gave up the Ghost crying “IT IS FINISHED, “IT IS
COMPLETED…” I have done it; I have seen my offspring. Glory! - Psalms 42 v 1 – 2,
v.1 “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee,
O God.”
v.2 “My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and
appear before God?”
